2016 Cadillac ATS-V Release Date
Since its 2013 model-year launch, Cadillac has introduced new iterations of its entry-level luxury car, the Cadillac ATS, each year. It all began with the award-winning sedan and was quickly followed by the sporty ATS Coupe. For the 2016 model year, Cadillac is giving the ATS its performance treatment with the recently unveiled Cadillac ATS-V.
Making its debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, much like the CTS-V, will take power, speed and performance to new heights. With the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V release date expected some time in the spring of 2015, there new performance luxury car is just months away from its arrival at Don Wheaton. Along with its official debut, Cadillac revealed a host of details to accompany the launch.
Set to be fitted with a 455-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that outputs 445 pound-feet of torque, the ATS-V will hold its own against Europe’s best performance models. The ATS-V can be equipped with a choice of two transmissions — a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic — that each offer launch control to ensure you’ll shoot off the line with the tap of the accelerator.
Of course, to match the spirited performance of the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, Cadillac made a number of engineering enhancements, including a revised suspension and braking systems to help hone in all its raw speed and power. With a 25-percent stiffer chassis and Magnetic Ride Control to ensure superior traction, the experience behind the wheel is sure to be absolutely incredible.
Performance enhancements continue to stretch to the ATS-V’s exterior, where the design implements a larger grille opening to help cool the twin-turbo V-6 engine, a front splitter that that pushes air down on the front of the car, and a lightweight carbon fiber hood that is engineered to reduce lift and pull hot air from the engine compartment.
