2017 Cadillac XT5 coming to Edmonton, AB
The 2017 Cadillac XT5 coming to Edmonton, AB and Don Wheaton is the next step in the evolution in Cadillac SUVs. Cadillac set the bar impossibly high with the Escalade. For the past several model-years, Cadillac customers have really responded to the lone crossover SUV from Cadillac, the SRX. The thought behind the 2017 Cadillac XT5 is that customers will want a little more vehicle, but without reaching the size and weight that comes with the Cadillac Escalade. Cadillac engineers have taken lessons learned from the development of other vehicles and have constructed the 2017 XT5 to offer more room that what is available in the SRX and will also have a lower curb weight than the existing Cadillac crossover SUV.
For example, the expertise Cadillac has gained in using new materials has resulted in the all-new 2017 Cadillac XT5 being nearly 130 kilograms lighter than the current SRX model and about 45 kilograms lighter than a potential rival in the Audi Q5. In terms of size, the new XT5 is seven inches longer than the Audi crossover SUV. The change in materials used to build the 2017 XT5 have not negatively effected the crossover’s body rigidity needs or crash protection performance. Additionally, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 coming to Edmonton, AB offers an additional 8.1 centimeters of rear legroom compared to the current SRX.
